DJ Fire - Transatlantic
Jurgen Leyers aka DJ Fire will release a new track soon on the Progrez label. DJ Fire, half of the legendary Fire & Ice project still remains a pretty underground artist with a long range of classic tracks under his belt. His tracks Himalaya, Religion and Ulan Bator still remain firm favourites in my playlist.
The past years he has changed from deeper to a little more danceable and melodic sound with a snif of electrance. The new release Transatlantic is out very soon with a remix by none other than Antidote.
Original Mix
Transatlantic is a very enjoyable mixture of progressive melodic trance with a sniff of electrance. The BPM is high enough to get your crowd dancing and the melody is a simple yet effective piece of work. During the first breakdown we get teased a little with an euphoric hands in the air moment, but it will take to the second breakdown before the melody gets a spotlight part in the track. It's alltogether nice, but not groundbreaking or memorable.
Antidote Remix
One of my favourite aliases from Marnix and L-Vee, Antidote always seem to deliver. Their earlier releases were full of dark and melodic stuff. However lately they have changed to a more accessible, but still raw sound. The remix of Transatlantic is a pretty banging and dirty rework with crazy electrobits transforming the original, gentle melody into a raw banger. More danceable but a tad boring in the end.
Conclusion
A pretty average from one of my favourite artists, DJ Fire. The Original nor the Antidote Remix made me extremely happy. I wish that DJ Fire would keep focusing on deeper and exciting melodic tracks with a darker Antidote Remix. It's good to evolve the sound, but this is a bit from everything and sadly scores average at the end.

The follow up on the up and coming Dj Fire release “Transatlantic” is already finished. Titletrack will be called “Under Pressure”, audiosnippet will follow on the audioplayer soon! Happy 2009 and c u soon in one of the clubs where I’ll be playing in the months to come...

Fire and Ice - Sayonara /Heart and Mind [Camouflage/Bonzai/Banshee] 1) Sayonara [136 BPM] 2) Heart & Mind( DJ IVI-R Remix) [ 129 BPM] If you are following Bonzai labels certainly you will love as I do the quality productions from the duo Fire and Ice. Namely Laurent Veronezz and Jurgen Lyers. Together they deliver always high quality trance tracks with an epic and uplifting feel to them. This newest production from them certainly carry orient influences to it as the title suggests and it can not get any better. Superb beats that lead to a break that pays a tribute to all the big electronic music composers with synths that play an addictive melody and will certainly bring some smiles and a lot of energy on the floor. The main part of the track includes many different layers of sounds that support each other and shape a wonderful cinematic feel. In the package is included a very different and highly infectious progressive trance mix by DJ IVI-R that is very influenced from that neo-trance meets house style by Deadmau5 and Duderstadt. 10/10 [Welcome back guys, the trance community salutes you]

First of all, thanks for visiting my revamped site!
I will be playing in a lot of clubs in the months to come, check my agenda on a regular bases...
The brand new DJ Fire release "Transatlantic" will be having a full release in January 2009 including an Antidote remix. It's already exclusively available on the latest Green Martian compilation as an album-only download. We’ve already finished the follow-up, so more to come!
The new Fire & Ice called "Sayonara" is available now, including some remixes of the classic “Heart and Mind”. You can expect more from Fire & Ice in the future!
Some mixes for online-stations are coming your way too very soon. I’ve been asked to do a mix for the 11 days of Progressive on Sense.fm. More info on this soon...
And there's a new digital mixconcept starting on which all Banshee-related jocks will be able to give you the pleasure of listening to an exclusive mix! Dj Fire presents Dj Sessions 05 will be available in March 2009!
